Bishop Anthony C. Celino, JCL, appointed by Pope Francis as auxiliary bishop for the Diocese of El Paso on February 8, 2023, is deeply guided by the Jesuit prayer of generosity. Born in Anda, Pangasinan, Philippines, on April 29, 1972, to Teodolo and Mines Cerdan Celino, he is the third Filipino elevated to a U.S. bishopric. Inspired by his mother's faith, he pursued priesthood, attending Mary Help of Christians Seminary and Mundelein Seminary, graduating in 1997. Ordained as a priest in 1997, he served at St. Patrick Cathedral, later advancing to roles such as vicar general and chancellor. Now, he serves as judicial vicar and pastor of St. Raphael Parish, embodying his motto of "serving without counting the cost."
