Fr. Leon Strider earned his BA in Classics from the University of St. Thomas, Houston, in 1972, and pursued further studies with an STB in Theology from the Gregorian University, Rome, in 1975. He also obtained an SLL in Liturgy and SLD in Liturgy from the Pontifical Liturgical Institute at San Anselmo, Rome, in 1980 and 1994 respectively. Fr. Strider has been a priest of the Diocese of Austin since 1976 and has held various positions including Chair of the Diocesan Liturgical Commission and Formation Faculty at St. Mary’s Seminary, Houston. He currently serves as full-time faculty at the same institution.
