‘You shall love the LORD your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind.’ This is the great and foremost commandment. The second is like it, ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’ (Matt 22:36-39)
The Engaged Parish is a how-to toolbox of practices and applications designed to foster a parish culture rooted in active listening, individual and communal discernment, and prayerful discovery of God’s will for you and your parish. Each application includes a step-by-step guide for implementation supported by real experience and theological insight. The parish community stands at the intersection of the vertical and horizontal relationships that define Christian discipleship. The Engaged Parish is a sacred doorway to transformative encounters with fellow disciples and the living God who never ceases to speak in the depths of the human heart and call His disciples to mission.
Dr. Choiniere’s presentation will provide an overview and outline of many of the practices found in The Engaged Parish. Participants will be invited into a prayerful experience of the practices themselves and create a plan to introduce practices of discernment into their own lives and faith communities.
The event is scheduled at ST.DOMINIC CENTER-Auditorium RM 202 for April 20, 2024, from 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM.
