Description

This is a two-hour long training. Those selecting this workshop will not be permitted to select a workshop in round 4. They will be expected to attend the second part of this workshop during that time.

This course is designed to support parish catechetical leaders, clergy, religious, and catechists in response to the fundamental principle of church doctrine, ‘the dignity of the human person is rooted in his creation in the image and likeness of God’ (CCC 1700). This principle is rooted in scripture and the Catholic Church pursues its mission by furthering the spiritual, intellectual, moral and physical development of the people it serves (Pastoral Statement of U.S. Catholic Bishops on Persons with Disabilities, 1). Within the Church’s committed pastoral response to persons with disabilities, this second part course equips pastors, deacons, religious and lay parish catechetical leaders with helpful guidelines as we continue to work towards a synodal church community. We will look at particle ways to foster inclusion in the catechetical setting as well as equip you with the tools necessary to welcoming every family living with a disability.
