Description
When Our Lady of Guadalupe appeared to St. Juan Diego, he told her, “I am a nobody, a small rope, a tail end, a leaf." He believed she needed to send someone better. This talk walks teens through his story to ask the same question of their own lives: what if you are already enough to be sent?
Through storytelling, scripture, and an activity connecting every person to one another and to the generations before and after them, teens will explore identity, dignity, calling, and how to move through hard feelings without losing their voice.
By the end of this talk, teens will be able to:
- Identify a gift or part of their story God can use, the way He used Juan Diego's voice, feet, and family
- Explain the difference between identity rooted in doing versus identity rooted in being
- Name one healthy way to respond to difficult feelings
Describe one small way to show up for someone this week, including speaking up for those without a voice
