Kaye Crawford holds a Master of Theology (Th.M.) degree from The Institute for Black Catholic Studies at Xavier University of Louisiana, as well as a BA in African and African American Studies and a BA in History (focusing on Church history, with a minor in Psychology) from the University of Texas. She is also a Sankofa Institute Scholar at the Oblate School of Theology. In 2013, she founded BlackCatholicHistory.com, an internationally taught enrichment program currently used in Catholic elementary schools across the United States and in Uganda. Kaye currently serves on the USCCB Dialogue of African Americans and Natives in Catholic Education committee. Previously, she served on the NCEA Advisory Committee for Racial Justice, on the Black Catholic Advisory Board of the Diocese of Austin, and co-founded a non-profit which built Catholic schools in Kamwenge, Uganda. She also presents at retreats centering on Marian spirituality.
