Dawn began serving as a youth volunteer when she was in college and received her youth ministry certification here in Houston. She went on to work as a youth minister in the diocese for many years. She and her husband, Augie, started SHINE Catholic Missions in the summer of 2000. They, along with their family and mission team, have led thousands of teens through week-long mission retreats all over the country. They also facilitate various retreats for children, teens and adults.

Dawn has a passion for helping the youth live out their baptismal call to serve. She also has a love for family and feels blessed to have homeschooled their children. She was constantly looking for ways to strengthen their domestic church and create a legacy of family faith traditions. She's happy to pass on those traditions to the families at Christ the Good Shepherd as the Associate Director of Evangelization & Discipleship for Families. Dawn enjoys accompanying families to help them on their faith journey and share practical ways for them to experience liturgical living in their homes. She is currently in formation with the National Community of Catechetical Leaders for their Practice of Catechesis Certification.
