This presentation makes a clear and urgent case: no family faith formation model—no matter how creative or well designed—can bear lasting fruit unless parents are first evangelized, encouraged, and awakened to their irreplaceable role in their child’s faith. Parent evangelization is not an optional add on; it is the essential first movement of any parish initiative that hopes to form families in a meaningful way. This session speaks directly to the question every catechist and DRE is asking: How do we engage parents before we ask them to do anything? In this presentation, leaders receive a practical, hope filled roadmap for preparing parents’ hearts so that family faith formation can truly flourish. It helps parish leaders and catechists understand today’s parents' spiritual landscape and offers practical, relational strategies to prepare their hearts before beginning a family faith program. It is “cultivating” the mission field. When parents feel welcomed, supported, and spiritually renewed, the entire family faith formation process becomes more fruitful, joyful, and transformative.
